Pastor Wallace
At Michiana Covenant PCA, we have a unique pastoral situation. The Rev. Dr. Peter J. Wallace is a minister in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church who serves as the pastor of Michiana Covenant PCA ("In the PCA I'm stated supply, in the OPC I'm an evangelist, but at Michiana Covenant, they just call me pastor!"). Pastor Peter and his wife, Ginger, live in South Bend with their seven children. He has served at Michiana Covenant since the fall of 2001, at first simply as stated supply while he was finishing his Ph.D. at Notre Dame. The ecumenical arrangement worked so well that in July of 2004 he was installed at a joint service of the OPC Presbytery of Michigan and Ontario and the PCA Great Lakes Presbytery in order to serve Michiana Covenant Presbyterian Church on a permanent basis.
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame (Ph.D. American History, 2004), Westminster Theological Seminary (M.Div., 1996), and Wheaton College (B.A. History of Christian Thought, 1993), he also serves as adjunct professor at Mid-America Reformed Seminary, and has taught at Bethel College and conducted numerous church history seminars in churches around the United States. He has taught history at Michiana Covenant Academy since 2008. Both he and his wife, Ginger, are second generation home schoolers of their seven children.
Dr. Wallace was previously the organizing pastor of Grace Reformed Church (OPC) in Walkerton, Indiana, and has served on several committees for the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, including the Committee to Prepare Proof-Texts for the Larger Catechism and the Committee on Views of Creation. He presently serves on the OPC’s Committee on Ecumenicity and Interchurch Relations, and the Psalter Hymnal Composition Subcommittee.
